Computer Science Education week (5 – 9 Dec 2018)
This week is Computer Science in Education Week!
Yes it’s an American thing but it promotes Computer Science so I’m all in!
In my classes we’ve had a look at how computer graphics are made up of pixels, it’s interesting to see how learners respond to looking at ‘retro’ game graphics.
This leads to some interesting discussions around processor abilities of older computers and consoles vs expectations in both graphics and processor abilities of systems (in our phones) now.
My students all had a go at recreating part of ‘classic Mario’ just to get their heads around pixels.
Check out their creative efforts!
