A closer look at resources (coming soon)

“It really is exciting to see something you designed on a sheet of  paper be created as a ‘real’ product!”

Making ‘Outstanding’ quick and easy

CLass Tools03I’m a fan of taking big ideas and simplifying them. The clearer and simpler you make an idea the more people can access it. That’s basically our job isn’t it?

This was my starting point with my resources to support outstanding teaching.

They’re simple solutions, quick and easy to use resources which can help a teacher deliver more engaging and purposeful lessons as they themselves work towards delivering Outstanding learning.

Building in resources

CLass Tools23Having spent some time observing and supporting teachers across the secondary curriculum, from Science to ICT, Art & Humanities I’ve been able to help teachers make impacts in some key learning areas using early versions of these simple resources which I’ve used for some years myself.

I wanted to share these as widely as possible and so have worked with a professional publishing team to develop these into cheaply available tools for teachers to utlitse in their efforts to raise standards.

Learning areas the resources cover

CLass Tools18The resources aide teachers to engage learners in  key parts of any lesson that is Good or Outstanding…

  • Objectives
  • Questioning
  • Vocabulary
  • Assessment
  • Self Reflection

CLass Tools28These simple tools are built around my idea that the most effective tools are the simplest most easy to utilise in a lesson. The resources are designed form a teachers perspective to form part of learning which will be Good and Outstanding.

The resources began as my own designs on paper which could be torn off in strips to be used in class, although the ideas have now been more professionally realised they still hold true to the core value of being quick, easy and effective for the teacher to use with pupils.

I’m sharing here the latest images of the resources in their design phase as they go through final ‘tweaks’ and corrections before release. Also coming soon is a simplified planning tool for teachers which is closely linked to the incorporation of these tools into lessons.

The resources will eventually be available in the most popular Educational catalogs and from the company website. Keep your eyes on the tips4teacing site and my twitter account @pw2tweets for updates on when they are released, how to order and the training that will be available for free with them.
